Mr. Brown was born April 6, 1935 the son of Clarence Monroe and Ethel Roberts Brown.
Carl was a native of Asheboro and co-owner of Fesmire and Brown inc., a firm Carl Brown started in 1959 with James Fesmire. The late James Fesmire retired in 1986 and Carl continued the business until he retired in 2007. Carl Brown learned his trade from his father, who was a splendid carpenter and craftsman. Carl took pride in his work and developed a well known reputation of quality. He insisted on everything being just right. It had to be plumb. Their firm developed several neighborhoods including: Pinecroft and Brownmire Village off Zoo Parkway. He had been an active member of the Asheboro Builders Association as well as Cross Road Baptist Church. He had a kind heart and never met a stranger or made an enemy. He was a humble and quiet man and when he spoke, you listened. He enjoyed gardening and fishing and was known for his hunter green Chevy pick-up truck and for his "stick built" homes. He lived a Christ like simple life. He will be greatly missed.
