C. Hubert Causey, age 85, of 700 South Main Street, Asheboro died Saturday, June 27, 2009 at his home.Hubert was the former owner of Causey Machine Company; he retired from Randolph Community College after 22 years of service as a Machine Shop Instructor. He served on the Asheboro City Council from 1963 to 1977. He volunteered with the City of Asheboro Fire Department for 25 years, retiring as Assistant Chief of the volunteers. He was a member of the First E&R Church of Christ, and was a Coast Guard veteran of World War II. He was preceded in death by a daughter Jane Reavis. He is survived by his wife: Margaret C. Causey, one daughter: Judy Curtis and her husband, Dwain of Murrell's Inlet, SC, one son: Jim Causey and his wife Joyce of Asheboro, NC, granddaughter, Megan Cauthen of Asheboro, NC; grandson, John Reavis of Manassas Park, VA; grandson, Jimmy Causey of Asheboro, NC; granddaughter, Rebecca Knox of Franklinton, NC; great grandson, Jonathan Reavis of Manassas Park, VA; great granddaughter, Ellie Reavis of Manassas Park, VA; great granddaughter, Haley Cauthen of Asheboro, NC, sister: Betty Westbrook of Garden City Beach, SC and brother: Dwight Causey of Garden City Beach, SCThe family will receive friends Tuesday, June 31, 2009 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC. The funeral will be Wednesday, July 1, 2009 at 11:00 AM at First E & R United Church of Christ, 221 Cliff Road, Asheboro with Rev. Dale Kennedy and Rev. Marion Smith officiating.
