Charles Fred "C.F." Cagle, Jr., age 83, of 912 Dairy St., Asheboro died Tuesday, December 28, 2010 at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital in Greensboro.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 31, 2010 at Oaklawn Cemetery with military honors by the Randolph County Honor Guard. The family will receive friends from 12:00 to 1:30 p.m. at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Ave., Asheboro prior to the service.
Mr. Cagle was retired from Kayser-Roth after 35 years of service as Cost Analyst Manager. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard during WWII, and was chosen as a Coast Guard Representative in the funeral procession for Franklin D. Roosevelt. Mr. Cagle loved the outdoors and was an avid fisherman and golfer.
He is survived by his wife of nearly 60 years, Noreen B. Cagle of the home, daughter Barbara C. Yates and her husband Tim of Asheboro, sons Charles Boyd Cagle and his wife Janet of Asheboro, Bryan B. Cagle and his wife Melinda of Randleman. Grandchildren are Garrett C. Yates of Morrisville, Ellery C. Yates of Asheboro, Marisa B. Cagle of Randleman, Jennifer R. Gilmore of Level Cross, Jessica Saunders of Asheboro, and great granddaughter Emery P. Gilmore of Level Cross.
