C. Edwin Strickland

Charlie Edwin Strickland, age 89, of 1831 Old Humble Mill Rd., Asheboro, died Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at Randolph Health & Rehabilitation. A graveside service will be held on Friday, May 31, 2013 at 11:00 am at Randolph Memorial Park with Rev. Ray McCormick officiating. Mr. Strickland was a native of Scotland County and spent most of his life in Asheboro. He was retired from the State of North Carolina Bridge Department. Edwin was a member of Eastside Baptist Church and enjoyed playing the guitar. He is survived by his daughters, Brenda Carrico and her husband Roger of Asheboro, Faye Shelton and her husband Tom of Asheboro, and Edwina Williams and her husband Todd Rector of Franklinville; 7 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; sister, Betty Ann Parks of Rockingham; and brother, Lonnie Strickland of Rockingham. The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 30, 2013 from 6:00-8:00 pm at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Ave., Asheboro.
