Burnice Howard "Burnie" Bristow, age 60, of 3140 Zoo Parkway, Asheboro died Monday, March 8, 2010 at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center, Winston-Salem. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 11, 2010 at 11:00 AM at the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Brian Faircloth officiating. Mr. Bristow was a native of Randolph County and formerly worked as a fireman, a security officer and automobile salesman. His hobbies included reading, watching NASCAR and writing a book of fiction. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ellen Bristow, his parents, Bill and Gladys Bristow and his brother, Bill Bristow, Jr. Burnie was a loving father, grandfather, brother and friend. His greatest enjoyment was spending time with his grandchildren. He is survived by his daughter, Susan Robbins and her husband Steven of Asheboro, NC; son, Todd Bristow and his wife Tammy of Liberty, NC; grandchildren, Ashton and Abbey Bristow both of Liberty, NC; and Stevi Robbins of Asheboro, NC; sisters, Doris Overman and her husband Johnny of Liberty, NC; Rose Davis of Asheboro, NC, Pat Nelson of Asheboro, NC; Shirley Ward and her husband Danny of Randleman, NC; brother, Sam Bristow and his wife Shirley of Winston-Salem, NC; and sister-in-law, Linda Bristow of Asheboro, NC and many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 10, 2010 from 6:30 - 8:30 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC and other times at his home. Memorials may be made to Susan G.
