Buford Benson “Bo” Turner, age 74, of Asheboro, passed away on Thursday, November 26, 2015 at Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro.
Bo was born August 29, 1941 to Samuel Burl Turner and Louise Buckner Turner.
Mr. Turner was a native of Gastonia, NC and served his country in the US Army. He graduated from Western Carolina University with a degree in business and was a member of Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity. He was retired from PaineWebber (now UBS) as an Account Vice-President. Bo was an avid golfer who loved to collect golf balls and smoke cheap cigars. He enjoyed sitting outside and taking in nature.
He is survived by his wife of 19 years, Cheryl Cates Turner; stepson, Chris Clark of Asheboro; granddaughter, Katie Clark of Summerfield; brothers, Gary Turner and wife Peggy of High Point, Dean Turner and wife Susie of Huntersville; sister, Beverly Ann Clemmer and husband Austin of Gastonia; and a host of very special nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, December 2, 2015 at 4:00 pm at the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel, 437 Sunset Avenue in Asheboro with Rev. Dale Sloan officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
The family would like to express a special thanks to all of the first responders who helped Bo so many times.
