Brandon Eugene Simmons

Brandon Eugene Simmons, age 20, of 3870 Love Joy Rd, Troy died Wednesday, October 21, 2009, due to a motor vehicle accident.Brandon was born June 29, 1989 in Montgomery County, NC, the son of Ernest and Tammy (Cooke) Simmons. He was a 2007 GED graduate of Montgomery Community College. He was an employee of Troy Lumber Company. He was a three time four wheeler champion (#34), 2005 1st Class Junior Open, 2006 Grand Champion-TT-4 Stroke B and 2007 Open Pro-Am, all won at Black Ankle Raceway. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Shelby Simmons.He is survived by his parents, Ernest and Tammy (Cooke) Simmons of the home; paternal grandfather, Vernon Simmons of Troy; maternal grandmother, Jennie Cooke of Troy; paternal grandfather and paternal step-grandmother, J.W. Cooke and Carol Cooke of Mt. Gilead. The family will receive friends Friday from 6-8 pm at Pugh-Troy Funeral Home, 211 North Main Street, Troy; other times at the home. The funeral will be Saturday at 2:00 pm at Callicutt Chapel Wesleyan Church, 1100 Horseshoe Bend Rd., Troy with Rev. Bob Freeman officiating.
