Bowden W. Robbins, age 87, of 1494 Westchapel Rd., Asheboro died Sunday, May 15, 2011 at his home. Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 20, 2011 at 2:00 PM at Amity Hills Baptist Church, 4140 U.S. Hwy 64 W., Asheboro with Rev. Barry Wall and Rev. Jonathan Hamilton officiating. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery with military honors by the Randolph County Honor Guard. Mr. Robbins was born on September 28, 1923 in Randolph County to Everette McKinley and Corrina Barnes Robbins. He was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII and was a self-employed contractor for over 50 years. He was a member of Amity Hills Baptist Church, where he was a past Trustee and former Head Usher. Bowden was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Bynum Robbins and Waylon Robbins, Sr., his sister Larue Johnson, and his great grandchild Morgan Grant. He is survived by his wife, Annie Mae Small Robbins; daughters, Barbara Foster and her husband Charlie of Denton, NC, Janice Linthicum and her husband W.C. of Randleman, NC; sons, Terry Robbins and his wife Vanessa of Asheboro, NC, Larry Robbins and his wife Kinza of Robbins, NC, Kenny Robbins and his wife Sheila of Asheboro, NC; grandchildren, Trevor Foster and his wife Kristie of Denton, NC, Annette Bouchard and her husband Kevin of Athol, MA, Sharon Sharpe and her husband Jesse of Asheboro, NC, Lisa Stanley and her husband Mike of Thomasville, NC, Christian Clark and her husband Frank of Randleman, NC, Jonathan Linthicum and his wife Felicia of Asheboro, NC, Jason Robbins and his wife Jamie of Asheboro, NC, Amanda Hamilton and her husband Jonathan of Yanceyville, NC, Kim Robbins of Robbins, NC, Chad Robbins and Helen Tuck of Denton, NC, Brian Robbins of Asheboro, NC, Heather Grant and her husband Eric of Asheboro, NC; great grandchildren, Joel Foster of Denton, NC, Britney Balg and her husband Chris of Athol, MA, Christopher Beam of Athol, MA, Abbie Sharpe of Asheboro, NC, Lillee Sharpe of Asheboro, NC, Curtis Stanley of Thomasville, NC, Steven Stanley of Thomasville, NC, Joseph Stanley of Thomasville, NC, Alex Clark of Randleman, NC, Rachel Hamilton of Yanceyville, NC, Hope Hamilton of Yanceyville, NC, Braden Robbins of Asheboro, NC, Bailee Robbins of Asheboro, NC; great great grandchild, Aydin Balg of Athol , MA and a great great grandson due in September; brothers, Darrell Robbins of Asheboro, NC and Hoyte Robbins, Sr. of Asheboro, NC. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 18, 2011 from 6:30 - 8:30 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC.
