Bonnie Lee Thrush Poole, age 76, of Troy died Friday, December 20, 2013 at FirstHealth Montgomery Memorial Hospital, Troy.
Bonnie was born August 7, 1937 at Shoshone, ID, the daughter of George S. and Dorothy McGeehee Thrush. She was a member of Troy Wesleyan Church.
Bonnie was a lead medical lab technician at various hospitals throughout the state, retiring from Northeast Medical Center. Her love of arts and crafts brought her much joy in doing things for others. She was well known for her sour-dough bread. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her siblings: Patty Thrush, Dorie Street and James Thrush.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years: Joseph D Poole of the home; one daughter: Pamela P Hurley (Darrell) of Troy and two sons: Gregory D Poole (Kimberly) of Asheboro, W. Scott Poole (Jennifer) of Troy; six grandchildren: Josh Poole, Megan Poole, Jennifer Strait (Jim), Jonathan Hurley (Julie), Kristen Poole and Sarah Poole; 2 great-grandchildren: Faith and Georgia Hurley; one sister: Betty Paraday of Portland, OR and one brother: Jerry Thrush (Linda) of Montrose, CO.
The family will receive friends Sunday, December 22, 2013 from 6-8 pm at Pugh-Troy Funeral Home, 211 North Main Street, Troy; other times at the home. A service to celebrate Bonnie's life will be Monday, December 23, 2013 at 2:00 pm at Troy Wesleyan Church, 842 Ophir Avenue, Troy with Pastor James Brewer officiating. Inurnment will follow at First Wesleyan Church Cemetery, 1368 NC Hwy 134 N, Troy, NC.
