Bobby Lee Smith

Bobby Lee Smith, age 67, of 520 Lindsay Ave., Asheboro died Saturday, May 15, 2010 at Randolph Hospital, Asheboro. Mr. Smith was born July 1, 1942 in Thomasville, NC the son of A. D. and Etna Williams Smith. Mr. Smith was a native of Asheboro and an active member of Guiding Light Baptist Church. He was employed with Lowes Foods for 20 years and formerly operated Bobby's Florist and Gift Shop for 10 years. Bobby sang with various quartets, including The Pioneers for several years. He had a love for music, cooking and always put others first. He loved his family and especially his grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Bobby was preceded in death by his sister: Betsy Hasty. He is survived by his wife: Evelyn Smith of the home; daughter: Michelle Scearce and her husband, Lee of Elizabeth City, NC; grandchildren: Ashlyn Scearce and Lane Scearce both of Elizabeth City, NC; sister: Betty Duncan of Johnson City, TN; and many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Monday, May 17, 2010 from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC. The funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 18, 2010 at 2:00 PM at Pugh Funeral Home Chapel, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro with Rev. Clyde Allen officiating.
