Bobby Russell Harrelson

Bobby Russell Harrelson, age 80, of Randleman died Wednesday, September 5, 2012 at his home. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 8, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel, Asheboro with Rev. Doug Gager officiating. Burial will follow in Randolph Memorial Park with military honors by the Randolph County Honor Guard. A native of Randolph County, Mr. Harrelson was born on April 10, 1932. He was the son of the late Levi and Ollie Harrelson. He was a member of Central Falls United Methodist Church. He enjoyed working in his garden and sharing his produce with others. He was a member of American Legion Post 45. He is preceded in death by his twin brother Billy Harrelson and sisters Edna Loflin, Charlotte Earl and Rebecca Raymond. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Betty Jean Harrelson; sons, J.R. Harrelson and wife Pamela of Randleman; Douglas Harrelson and wife Virginia of Franklinville; daughter, Karen Doby of Randleman and fiancee Eddie Couzens of Greensboro; brother, Charles Harrelson and wife Thelma of Seagrove; Gurney Harrelson and wife Phyllis of Star; grandchildren, Scott Harrelson, Ryan Harrelson and wife Amanda, Heather Craven and husband Kevin, Aaron Harrelson, Zachary Doby, Benjamin Doby and Ethan Doby; great-grandchildren, Chloe Harrelson, Brittany Harrelson, Bryant Harrelson, Dallas Harrelson, Houston Harrelson and Kori Francis. The family will receive friends on Friday, September 7, 2012 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC and other times at the home of Karen Doby.
