Bobby Lyn Caldwell, age 83, of Asheboro died Wednesday, December 10, 2014 at Clapp's Convalescent Nursing Home.
Mr. Caldwell was born in Moore County on December 29, 1930 to J.H. and Maie Fincher Caldwell. Bobby served his country in the U.S. Navy and was retired from Bossong Hosiery after 42 years of service. Bobby was a member of Cross Road Baptist Church and enjoyed gardening. In addition to his parents, Bobby was preceded in death by 2 sisters and 3 brothers. Bobby was a loving and caring husband, father, and grandfather. He was a respectful man who believed in teaching children right from wrong.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Marie Sykes Caldwell; daughter, Debbie Brewer and husband Frankie of Asheboro; son, Randy Caldwell of Liberty; 5 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; brothers, Kenneth Caldwell and wife Peggy of McCaysville, GA, Norman Caldwell and wife Vi of Inglewood, FL; and sister, Jolene McLean of Haw River.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 13, 2014 from 12:30-1:45 pm at Cross Road Baptist Church, 1566 Old Cox Rd., Asheboro. Funeral services will follow on Saturday at 2:00 pm at Cross Road Baptist Church with Pastor Johnny R. Henderson and Rev. Gregg Arnold officiating. Entombment will be in Randolph Memorial Park.
