Blanche Carnelia Farlow Satterfield, age 90, passed away peacefully in her sleep surrounded by her family on March 2, 2017. She was born in Montgomery County, NC to William Penn Farlow and Elizabeth Hogan Farlow. With her passing, Heaven gained another beautiful angel. Her family and friends are left with lots of memories of a compassionate, good hearted woman that would give to others before herself. She praised the Lord daily for her strengths, as well as her weaknesses. She walked by faith on a daily basis. She enjoyed everything from her sports, which included Duke basketball, Nascar racing with favorite drivers Dale Earnhardt and Dale Earnhardt, Jr, St. Louis Cardinals baseball and Panthers football to her many vacations taken over the years, with her favorite being the many cruises she sailed on. Blanche was a devoted wife, mother, sister and grandma (nannie), bust most of all, Blanche loved her family, she especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She made sure to attend any function/sports she could to support them in everything they did.
Blanche was previously employed by Jockey, formerly known as Nantucket and Pinewood Country Club. She attended Destination Heaven until her health kept her at home and was a faithful member of Mountain View Independent Methodist Church, both in Asheboro, NC.
Blanche was preceded in death by her beloved husband Charles Arthur Satterfield, Parents, William Penn Farlow and Elizabeth Hogan Farlow, Brother, Franklin Farlow, Sisters, DeEtte Dickerson, Pearlie Miller and Nellie Hunt and granddaughter, Jennifer Satterfield.
She is survived by her children, Ray Satterfield, Ronnie Satterfield (fiancé Trudy Farlow), Darlene Satterfield and Carol Craig (husband Roger Craig), all of Asheboro, NC, Sisters, Essie Brady of Candor, NC, DeEtta Hill, of Asheboro, NC, and Alberta Hurley of Wilmington, NC. Blanche was blessed with 9 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren, with 1 on the way.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 pm on Saturday, March 4, 2017 at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro. A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, March 5, 2017 at 3:00 pm at Destination Heaven with Pastor Benny Smith, Pastor Terry Whitaker and Pastor Alvin Powell. A graveside service is immediately following at Mountain View Independent Methodist Church.
A very special thank you to Cathy (CNA); Lisa, John, Wendy, Tara, Megan (Registered Nurses); Candice (Administrator) and Kim (Social Worker) with Hospice of Randolph. Your warm hearts and caring personalities helped us out tremendously during her final moments.
