Blanche Parsons Lamonds

Blanche Parsons Lamonds, age 93, of 2376 Candor-Troy Road, Candor died Monday, January 21, 2013 at her home.

Mrs. Lamonds was born February 21, 1919 at Troy, NC, the daughter of Clayton C. and Maggie Sedberry Parsons. She was a member of Laurel Hill Baptist Church and a former textile worker. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, David Lamonds, two sons, Jerome Lamonds and Cletus Lamonds, one grandson, Danny Lamonds, three brothers, Leonard Parsons, Howard Parsons, Walton Parsons and one sister, Bois Smith.

She is survived by two sons: Donald Richard Lamonds and wife, Sandra of Georgia, Roger Dale Lamonds and wife, Regina of Greensboro; two sisters: Elaine Haywood of Troy, Sarah Harris and husband, Herbert of Troy; one brother: Tilton Parsons and wife, Jeanette of Troy; two daughters-in-law, Jeanette Lamonds and Gail Lamonds, both of Troy; 11 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, January 23, 2013 from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Pugh-Troy Funeral Home, 211 North Main Street, Troy; other times at the home. The funeral will be Thursday at 11:00 am at Laurel Hill Baptist Church, 1569 Troy-Candor Rd, Candor with Rev. Julian Crooks and Rev. J. R. Gossett officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
