Birdie Darlene Bowen

Birdie Darlene Bowen, age 47, of Denton died Sunday, January 11, 2015 at her home. Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 16, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Russell's Grove Baptist Church, 5118 U.S. Hwy 220 Bus. South, Asheboro with Pastor Tim Fonner officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Ms. Bowen was born in Greensboro, NC on July 13, 1967 to Arthur Lee and Faye Ola Barton Bowen. She was employed with Sapona Manufacturing. Birdie was a member of Russell's Grove Baptist Church where she assisted with the children's ministries. In addition to her parents, Birdie was preceded in death by her sister Donna Marie Campbell, grandchildren Zoey, Noah, and Cheyenne, and nephew Harold Dean Sexton. She is survived by her husband, Jeff Collins; son, James McNeil and wife Faith of Asheboro; daughter, Maranda McNeil of Corbin, KY; granddaughter, Addi McNeil; sisters, Faye Ann Burns of Siler City, Cheryl Pegram of Randleman, Theresa Murray and husband Lester of Liberty; and brother, Harold Bowen of Asheboro. The family will receive friends Thursday, January 15, 2015 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. in the Russell's Grove Baptist Church Family Life Center.
