Billy Allen Oaks

Billy Allen Oaks, age 81, of Mount Gilead, NC passed away peacefully at home on Monday, January 18, 2016. Billy was born in Mitchell County NC and was a long term Seagrove NC resident. Mr. Oaks served his country as a member of the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He was retired from Jockey International where he worked as a machine mechanic. Billy was preceded in death by his dearest daughter Vicki Annette Oaks and two sisters and five brothers. He is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Doris Joan Oaks of Mount Gilead, NC, daughter Rita Spivey and her husband Bobby Spivey, son Randall Oaks, son Ricky Oaks, son Terry Oaks, daughter Tammi Vaughan and her husband Brian Vaughan. His siblings Freda Oaks Cox, Eugene Oaks, Donald Oaks and 17 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. Billy was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and brother. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Pugh Funeral Home in Asheboro is serving the Oaks family.
