Billy Gene Joyce

Billy Gene Joyce, age 89, of Asheboro passed away on October 27, 2024 at NorthPointe of Archdale.

Mr. Joyce was born in Stokes County on May 3, 1935 to Samuel and Ruth Joyce. Billy served his country in the U.S. Navy for 12 years and helped run the American Legion. He was employed as the General Manager of Clark Trading Company for 17 years. Billy was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, Billy was preceded in death by his wife, Paulette Webb Joyce, daughter, Gwen McVey, and sons, David Joyce and Mike Joyce. Billy had a good sense of humor and loved to joke around. He loved playing Bingo. Most of all, Billy loved his grandchildren.

He is survived by his children, Mark Joyce of Fernandina Beach, FL, Jan Prevette of Franklin, Susie Hiner (Scott) of High Point, Kathy Farmer (Clifford) of Asheboro, Barbara Schreiber (Larry) of Seagrove; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Monday, November 4, 2024 from 1:00-1:45 pm at Fellowship Baptist Church, 528 Old Liberty Road in Asheboro. A memorial service will follow on Monday at 2:00 pm at Fellowship Baptist Church with Rev. Mark Keck officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
