Billy Andrew Gooch

Billy Andrew Gooch, age 76, of 2533 Flint Hill Road, Troy died Monday, December 5, 2011 at his home. Billy was born October 29, 1935 in Randolph County, the son of Dock Otis Gooch and Hazel Revell Gooch. Billy was a member of Ophir United Methodist Church. He was retired owner of Gooch Logging and Sons and an avid fisherman. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by son, Gary Andrew Gooch, brother, Brownie Gooch, sister, Brenda Gooch Maness and niece, Kyanna Kaye Karriker. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Bobbie Jean McCaskill Gooch of the home; sons: Rodney Gooch, Greg Gooch; daughter: Joy Gooch Pochis; grandchildren: Justin, Shelby Jean, Holly, Zachary, Garrett, Ashley, Jake and Eli; great-grandchildren: Avery, Ethan and Ryli; brothers: Reginald Gooch and wife, Lottie of Denton, Richard Gooch and wife, Sandra of Troy, Steve Gooch of Troy and Phillip Gooch, also of Troy; sisters: Janie Morgan and husband, Junior of Troy, Linda Karriker of Troy and Kaye Norris and husband, Robert of Troy. The family will receive friends Thursday from 6 to 8 pm at Pugh-Troy Funeral Home, 211 N Main St., Troy; other times at the home. A service to celebrate his life will be Friday at 2pm at Ophir United Methodist Church of Troy with Rev. Ron Scott and Rev. Glenn Hancock officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
