Bill Smith

William Brantley "Bill" Smith, age 83, of Sophia died Saturday, August 22, 2009 at High Point Regional Hospital in High Point. Mr. Smith was a native of Nelsonville, Ohio and retired produce salesman. He was a member of Flint Hill United Church of Christ. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Emery Ervin and Lillian Skiver Smith; sister, Louvenia S. Yow; brothers, Cable Bowers and Gerald Smith. He is survived by sons: David and his wife Glenda Smith of Sophia, Jeffrey and his wife Pat Smith of Sophia, Blaine Smith of The Home and Mike and his wife Beckey Adams of Clemmons; grandchildren: Michelle and her husband Chris Bass of Rocky Mount, Julie Smith of Sophia and Amy Lou Smith of Sophia; great grandchildren: Camryn Bass of Rocky Mount and Gracie Bass of Rocky Mount; sister: Violet Horton of Sophia; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 25, 2009 from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 600 South Main Street in Randleman. The funeral will be held on Wednesday, August 26, 2009 at 11:00 AM at the Flint Hill United Church Of Christ, in Sophia with Rev. Jack Clark officiating.
