William Francis "Bill" Shea, age 82, of 1017 Amity Rd., Asheboro died Thursday, October 8, 2009 at Randolph Health & Rehabilitation, Asheboro.Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 13, 2009 at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 512 W. Wainman Ave., Asheboro with Father Christopher Davis officiating. Burial will be follow in Oaklawn Cemetery with military honors by the Randolph County Honor Guard.Mr. Shea was a native of New York, NY and was a U.S. Navy veteran of WWII, serving in the Japanese Theater. He was retired from the Long Island Lighting Company and was formerly employed with Winn-Dixie in Asheboro. He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church and was a member of American Legion Post 45. Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Wright Shea and his daughter, Barbara Molloy Gentile.He is survived by his brother, Joe Shea and his wife Maria of Hendersonville, NC; nephew, Thomas Lemonds and his wife Rachel of Asheboro, NC.The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 13, 2009 from 10:00-10:45 AM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC. Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
