Beverly Jean Harrelson Hines

Beverly Jean Harrelson Hines, age 84 of Asheboro, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 27, 2023 at Clapp’s Convalescent Nursing Home in Asheboro.

Beverly was born on June 6, 1939 in Lumberton N.C. to E.V. and Nettie Burke Harrelson. Beverly worked in the finishing department at Energizer in Asheboro and retired after 30+ years of employment there. She was a member of Caraway Baptist Church and loved listening to gospel music as well as David Jeremiah preach. Life taught Beverly to be a strong-willed and determined woman. She enjoyed going to the lake with her family and loved to cook. She was known for her delicious pumpkin pies. Beverly loved cardinals and the many companion dogs she had over her lifetime, including her most recent named Peanut, a teacup chihuahua who passed last week after 14 years of a happy life. Most of all, she loved and adored her grandchildren, great grandchildren and her great great granddaughter. In addition to her parents, Beverly is preceded in death by her brother, Adolphus Harrelson.

Beverly is survived by her daughters, Becky Hoover (Scotty) of Asheboro, Connie Ittner of Lake Gaston; grandchildren, Melissa Epps (Philip), Christopher Hoover (Niki), Amber LaBarre (Justin), and Brandon Luffman (Martina); great grandchildren, Caleb, Conner, Charlotte, Aspen, Ciara, Kierstin, and Steven; great great granddaughter Saleen; and her brother Ronnie Harrelson of Seagrove.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 6, 2024 at 11am at Pugh Funeral Home’s Chapel. There will also be a private family burial service at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made in Beverly’s honor to Hospice of Randolph, 416 Vision Drive, Asheboro, NC 27203.
