Betty Royal Johnson

Betty Royal Johnson, age 84, of 248 Ballpark Rd, Biscoe died Tuesday, October 9, 2012 at Randolph Hospice House, Asheboro. Betty was born February 29, 1928 at Savannah, Georgia, the daughter of Amos and Mary Ann Lambeth Royal. Although born in Georgia, she lived the majority of her life in Montgomery County. She was a member of Lomax Memorial Baptist Church of Troy and former member of Tabernacle Baptist Church, also of Troy. She was a homemaker. Betty was a Christian who strived to live her life as an example of Christ-like love for everyone. She was faithful to her Lord, family and church. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Clifton Harrison Johnson, granddaughter, Lorena Mae Cook, grandson, William Harrison Johnson, Jr. and great-grandson, Jason Alexander Bowles. She is survived by one daughter: Hazel J. Cook and husband, Ernest Edward Cook of King; one son: William "Bill" Johnson, Sr. and wife, Deborah of Biscoe; two sisters: Eleanor Bowman of Star, Barbara Reeder of New London; six grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren. The family will receive friends Thursday, Oct. 11, 2012 from 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm at Pugh-Troy Funeral Home, 211 N Main St., Troy; other times at the home of Bill and Deborah Johnson, 220 Ballpark Rd., Biscoe. The funeral will be Friday at 2:00 pm at Lomax Memorial Baptist Church, Correll Road, Troy with Rev. Charles "Chip" Bryant and Rev. Mark Harper officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
