Betty Smith Parks

Betty Smith Parks, age 73, of Asheboro died Wednesday, February 13, 2013 at her home. Mrs. Parks was a native of Randolph County and retired from Southwest Randolph High School cafeteria with over 30 years of service. She was preceded in death by her husband, James W. "Dub" Parks. Betty's greatest joy in life was spending time with her grandchildren. She is survived by her sons, Jeff Parks of Asheboro, Greg Parks and his wife Rebecca of Asheboro; grandchildren, Brandon Parks of Lexington, Taylor Parks, Brooke Parks, Wesley Parks and Tyler Parks all of Asheboro; sisters, Faye York and her husband Ralph of Asheboro, Barbara Davis and her husband Clay of Seagrove, Elizabeth Gearren of Asheboro, Doris Voncannon and her husband Ralph of Asheboro, Virginia Cox of Asheboro; brothers, Roger Smith and his Vera of Asheboro, Bud Smith of Asheboro, Harold Smith and his wife Mary Alice of Franklinville. The family will receive friends Friday, February 15, 2013 from 6 to 8 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro. Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 16, 2013 at 2:00 PM at Pugh Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ralph Voncannon and Rev. Clay Davis officiating. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the charity of donors choice.
