Betty Jane Schrimsher Ostrander

Betty Jane Schrimsher Ostrander, age 78, of Denton passed away on Monday, April 1, 2019 at Randolph Hospice House.

Mrs. Ostrander was born in Sharps Cove, AL on June 11, 1940 to Richard and Mary Jane Cobb Schrimsher. She was retired from Carolina Precision Plastics, and following her retirement, was employed with Quik Chek on Old Liberty Road and Huddle House in Asheboro. Betty formerly attended Friendship Baptist Church on Spero Road. In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Dallas Ostrander, Jr., daughter, Kathleen Annette Ostrander Mothershed, 5 siblings, and great grandchild, Devin Barringer.

She is survived by her son, Dallas Ostrander III and wife Terrie of Albemarle; grandsons, James Robert "Bubba" Mothershed III of Denton, Dallas Ostrander IV and wife Robin of Monroe, and Chris Ostrander and wife Jessica of San Diego, CA; granddaughters, Barbara Ann Mothershed of Denton, Jessica Ostrander of Daytona Beach, FL, and Kimberly Ostrander of Mt. Gilead; great grandchildren, Tierney, Dameon, Kenley, Mattie, Katie, Addie, Samantha, Breanna, Wyatt, and River; and brothers, Bobby Schrimsher and wife Phyllis of Sophia, Mike Schrimsher and wife Barbara of Sophia, and Jerry Lee Schrimsher of Huntsville, AL.

The family will receive friends on Friday, April 5, 2019 from 12:30-1:30 pm at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue in Asheboro. Funeral services will follow on Friday at 2:00 pm at the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tommy R. Kidd Sr. officiating. Burial will be held in New Hope Memorial Gardens.
