Betty Edwards Jester

Betty Edwards Jester, age 85, of Asheboro died Friday, May 6, 2016 at Randolph Hospice House in Asheboro. Mrs. Jester was born May 16, 1930 in Guilford County, NC, the daughter of Daniel Elmer and Ethel Mae Glasgow Edwards. Mrs. Jester grew up in Randolph County was retired from Black and Decker, formerly General Electric. She formerly attended Hunt's Plank Road Chapel and was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Clifford Austin Jester. She is survived by her daughter Kathy and her husband Carl Wright of the home, and a special granddaughter, Carla Hill of Asheboro. Betty was blessed to have many beloved nieces, nephews, in laws, friends, and extended family that she considered as her family. The family will receive friends Tuesday, May 10, 2016 from 12:30-1:30PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC. The funeral will follow at 2:00 PM in the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Tim Pheagin officiating. Burial will be at Randolph Memorial Park. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the nurses and staff of the Randolph Hospice House for their care and concern for Betty during her short illness.
