Betty Jones Hutchens

Betty Jones Hutchens, age 90, of Asheboro died Friday, May 6, 2016 at Clapp's Convalescent Nursing Home in Asheboro. Mrs. Hutchens was born September 4, 1925 in Ellerbe, NC the daughter of Vernon Lee and Evelyn Lee Maddox Jones. Betty was a member of Balfour Baptist Church of Asheboro and a member of the Eastern Star chapter #310 for over 50 years. She was an accountant with Black & Decker retiring after over thirty years of service. Betty is preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by daughter: Ann Hutchens Rollins and husband Jerry of Randleman; sons: Charles "Ken" Hutchens and wife Wanda of Salisbury and Ronald Lee Hutchens and wife Susan of Nashville, TN; grandchildren: Charlotte Testa and husband Dave of Matthews, Libby Knutson and husband Brandon of Swannanoa, Kristine Bugno and husband Corey of Kernersville and Blair Hutchens of Nashville, TN; great grandchildren: Jake, Sadie and Abbey Testa all of Matthews. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 10, 2016 from 10:00 - 11:00 AM at Balfour Baptist Church, 1644 North Fayetteville Street in Asheboro. The funeral service will be held Tuesday following the visitation at 11:00 AM at Balfour Baptist Church, 1644 North Fayetteville Street in Asheboro with Rev. Kenneth L. Reaves officiating. Burial will be in Randolph Memorial Park, Asheboro. Memorials may be made to Balfour Baptist Church, 1644 North Fayetteville Street, Asheboro, NC 27203.
