Betty Jean York Harrelson

Betty Jean York Harrelson, age 82, of Randleman passed away on Thursday, September 13, 2018 at Randolph Hospice House.

Mrs. Harrelson was born in Randolph County, NC on December 10, 1935 to Jesse and Lee Pet York.  She was formerly employed with Klopman Mills and was retired from Arrow International.  Betty Jean was a member of Central Falls United Methodist Church.  In addition to her parents, Betty Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Russell Harrelson, brother, Johnny York, and son-in-law, Michael Doby.  Betty Jean enjoyed gardening, canning, cooking, and spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her sons, J. R. Harrelson (Pam) of Randleman and Doug Harrelson (Virginia) of Franklinville; daughter, Karen Doby of Randleman; grandchildren, Scott Harrelson (Kelsey), Heather Craven, Ryan Harrelson (Mandy), Aaron Harrelson, Zachary Doby, Benjamin Doby, and Ethan Doby; and 11 great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 16, 2018 from 4:00-5:00 pm at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue in Asheboro and other times at the home of her daughter Karen Doby.  Funeral services will follow on Sunday at 5:00 pm at the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Danny Keen officiating.  Burial will be in Randolph Memorial Park on Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at 2:00 pm.
