Betty Marie Handy

Betty Marie Handy, age 78, a native of Asheboro, N.C. died Oct 8, 2009. Betty was the wife of the late Dewey L. Handy, and the daughter of the late "Willie" and Blanch Luck. She is survived by her daughters Lillian Jowers of Raleigh, NC and Dewrise Guess of Spotsylvania, Va; her grandaughters Tricia and Paula Guess; her grandsons Seth and Ben Withers; her brother "Mickey" Luck of Statham, Ga; first cousin Kate James; and nephews Donald Luck, Bill and Roger Barton, and Creg Luck. Betty and Dewey made their homes in Asheboro and Dallas, NC, while working in textiles for over 30 years. Betty enjoyed boating, fishing, and reading. Betty was a cherished and wonderfully dedicated wife, mother, grand and great grandmother. The family will receive friends Tuesday, October 13th from 12 Noon to 1:30 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC. The funeral will be Tuesday at 2:00 PM at Pugh Funeral Home Chapel, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro with Rev. Marion Smith officiating. Burial will follow be in Randolph Memorial Park, Asheboro.
