Betty Rose Ferguson Fulghum passed away November 11, 2013 after a long and courageous battle with a rare cancer.
She was a special friend to so many people; most of whom visited her the last weeks of her life to say goodbye and to thank her for adding so much happiness and memories to their lives. Her welcoming smile and her never ending wit will be missed but never forgotten.
Betty Rose was born April 9, 1949 to Betty Ramsey and Don Ferguson. She retired after 31 years as assistant Clerk of Court in Randolph County.
Betty Rose was preceded in death by her parents Betty and Don Ferguson.
She leaves her husband and "Best Buddy" Ken Fulghum and their sweet puppies Molly and Woody. Betty Rose is also survived by her brothers Donnie Ferguson, and his wife Debbie of Asheville, NC; Mickey Ferguson and his wife Robin of Graham, NC; sister and best friend Nancy Ann Ferguson of Apex, NC. Other survivors include nephews Michael Ferguson, and his wife Elizabeth, and their daughter Salem of Asheville, NC and Daniel Ferguson of Cleveland, OH. She is survived by two uncles, Paul Ferguson of Siler City, NC and Vernon Ramsey of Jacksonville, NC; special cousins, Debbie Northington, Reg and Betty Curlee and Cindy Pope. Betty Rose also had two "adopted sisters" Janet Fearrington and Jane Farmer whom she loved very much. One very special person in Betty Rose's life was cousin Sis Wood, who has always been a role model and inspiration for her.
Visitation with the family will be at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Ave., Asheboro on Wednesday, November 13, 2013 from 6- 8 pm. Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 14, 2013 at 11:00 am in the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Johnny Henderson officiating. Burial will follow at Chatham Memorial Park, Siler City, NC. Other times friends and family may visit at Ken and Betty's home.
