Betty Thompson Frye went home to be with the Lord on May 3, 2015. She was preceded in death by her husband Wayne C. Frye and daughter Barbara Jean Frye Strider.
Betty was born in Mecklenburg County on June 18, 1924 to Archie and Sarah Tucker Thompson. She was retired from Burlington Industries and the Victory Baptist Church Daycare. Betty was a member of Union Grove Baptist Church where she formerly taught the Beginner Sunday School class, was the church secretary, sang in the choir, and served on various committees in the church. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, and crafts.
Her advice for teens: Set your goals high and reach for them. Don't go anywhere that you would not want to be if Jesus was coming again.

She is survived by her daughter, Ann Frye Wooten (Edward) of Gastonia; son-in-law, Harold Strider of Pisgah; grandchildren, Karen Jean Wooten Haney (Grady) of Clover, SC, Elizabeth Ann Strider Nance (Clinton) of Pisgah, Donna Rebecca Wooten Miller (Jon) of Mt. Holly; Wanda Jane Wooten Steele (William) of Kings Mountain, NC; 11 great grandchildren; and 9 great great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, May 5, 2015 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 6, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Union Grove Baptist Church, 7912 Union Grove Church Road, Seagrove with Dr. Ronnie Chaney and Pastor Johnny Henderson officiating. Burial will be in the Victory Baptist Church Cemetery.
