Betty Deberry Hamilton

Betty Deberry Hamilton, age 84, formerly of 139 Haithcock St., Troy died Monday, September 2, 2013 at Trinity Place, Albemarle. Betty was born October 11, 1928 at Montgomery County, NC, the daughter of Ray and Bertha Russell Deberry. She was a former sewing machine operator with twenty plus years of service at Capel Rug Mill of Troy. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Frank Hamilton, who passed away April 25, 2011; one son, Gary Lynn Hamilton, two brothers, Harold Deberry and Ray Deberry. Betty is survived by three children:: Kay Medlin of Richfield, Larry Hamilton of Mt. Gilead and Sarah Dunn of Mt. Gilead; seven grandchildren: Gary Hamilton, Kent Medlin, Kelly Thompson, Brandy Medlin, Alex Medlin, Austin Dunn and Justin Dunn; 11 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends Wednesday, September 4, 2013 from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Pugh-Troy Funeral Home, 211 North Main Street, Troy; other times at the home of Sarah Dunn, 656 Bowles Rd., Mt. Gilead. The funeral will be Thursday at 2:00 pm at Love Joy United Methodist Church, 1137 Substation Rd, Troy with Rev. Ron Hamilton and Rev. Kevin Thompson officiating.
