Betty Jean Carter

Betty Jean Chriscoe Carter, age 79, of Asheboro died Sunday, May 18, 2014 at Randolph Health & Rehabilitation. Mrs. Carter was born January 2, 1935 in Montgomery County to Irvin and Bessie Chriscoe. She was formerly employed with Hickory Hill Nursery, Fieldcrest and Burlington Socks. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Carter was preceded in death by her husband, James Carter, sons, Harold Carter and Benny Carter. She is survived by her sons, Steve Carter and wife Sharon of Asheboro, Darrell Carter and wife Fiona of Randleman, Edward Carter of Randleman, Clark Carter of Fayetteville, Mark Carter and wife Faye of Holden Beach, Andy Carter and wife Patricia of Asheboro, Carlton Carter of Greensboro; 24 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; sisters, Barbara Henley of Seagrove, Lona Farlow of Seagrove. The family will receive friends Tuesday, May 20, 2014 from 6 - 8 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro and other times at the home of Steve Carter, 409 Virginia Ave., Asheboro. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, May 21, 2014 at 12:00 noon at Randolph Memorial Park with Pastor Marty Granger officiating. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Randolph, P.O.
