Betty Rumsey Callicutt, age 79, of Worthville died Friday, May 14, 2010 in Randleman.
Mrs. Callicutt was born February 14, 1931 in High Point, NC the daughter of the Tracy Porter and Louise Loving Rumsey, Sr.
Mrs. Callicutt was a native of Randolph County and retired from Jockey International of Cedar Falls. She was a member of The Fieldcrest Lady Hornets Softball Team which finished second in the World in 1964 in Omaha, NE. Betty loved to bowl in the Senior League and participate in the Senior Games where she won several metals. She also loved taking care of her cats. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, John Wesley, sister, Peggy Rumsey Parris and brother, Tracy Rumsey, Jr.
She is survived by daughter: Andie Presnell of Randleman; sons: Ronnie "Ron" Callicutt and his wife, Debbie of Randleman, David Callicutt and his wife, Lou of Randleman; grandchildren: Sabre Taylor of Shalotte, Freddy Callicutt of Liberty, Spring Robinson of Randleman, Traci Key of Randleman, Caroline Presnell of Randleman, 8 great grandchildren; sister: Sara Rumsey of Randleman.
The family will receive friends Sunday, May 16, 2010 from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at Pugh Funeral Home, 600 South Main Street, Randleman, NC.
The funeral service will be held Monday, May 17, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Whites Memorial Baptist Church, 2930 Whites Memorial Rd. in Franklinville with Rev. Jeff Joyce officiating. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery.
