She was born November 22, 1925, in Leesburg, Virginia, the daughter of William H. and Annie Crim Turner. Betty was a life-long member of Leesburg United Methodist Church, and a member of Central United Methodist Church in Asheboro. She was a wonderful cook and homemaker, as well as an accomplished quilter. In later years, she picked up her guitar and began singing and playing the "old songs," bringing joy to her many friends at Cross Road Retirement Community and other nursing homes and churches in Asheboro. She continued to sing her way home at Clapp's where she was well cared for by a kind, loving and competent staff.
