Betsy H. Greene, age 83, of Troy died Sunday, June 25, 2017 at Sandy Ridge Assisted Living, Candor, NC.

Mrs. Greene was born February 17, 1934 in Louisburg, NC the daughter of the late Percy Clifton and the late Susie (West) Holmes.

She is survived by her husband: David J Greene; two daughters, Carolyn (Bugs) Rector of Rockingham, NC and Deanne (Kelsey) Brown of Troy, NC; two sons, David S. Greene of Asheboro, NC and Jeff Greene of Troy, NC; Grandsons, Jeffery Greene, Josh Rector, Alex Lemons; granddaughters, Tasha Lamonds, Brittany Lemons, Lauren Brown; Great Grandchildren, Colton Greene, Aubrey Greene, Aiden Capel, and Lyla Monroe. She was preceded in death by daughter, Teresa Greene and 14 brothers and sisters.

Mrs. Greene was a strong willed lady active with the State Board of Selective Service, a Board Member of Montgomery Board of Elections, an Ombudsman for the Senior Tarheel Legislature, a Member of the Council on Aging and Chairperson of Republican Women's Club. She enjoyed quilting, traveling abroad and spending time with her family.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 28th, 2017 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Pugh-Troy Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St., Troy, NC. Funeral service will be held Thursday, June 29, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Hickory Grove Pentecostal Holiness Church, 3934 Pekin Road, Candor, NC with the Rev. Scott Leary officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
