Bessie Marie Stafford

Bessie Marie Rayhill Stafford, age 99, formerly of Sherwood Oaks Dr., died Saturday, August 11, 2012 at Woodland Hill Care & Rehabilitation, Asheboro. Mrs. Stafford was born February 1, 1913 the daughter of Corwin W. and Lillie Sue Barr Rayhill. Bessie was a native of Hickman, KY and a longtime resident of Asheboro. She was formerly employed at the Sunset Theater, the Anchor Store and Asheboro Drug Store. She retired from Merle Norman Cosmetics of Asheboro. She was a member of Oakhurst Baptist Church where she served as her Sunday School Class Treasurer. Bessie is preceded in death by her husband: Jesse Stafford and her daughter: Jean S. Nance. She is survived by her: grandson and his wife: Mike and Denise Nance of Asheboro, NC; granddaughter and her husband: Jean Marie and Ronnie Burgess of Ramseur, NC; and great granddaughters: Hayley and Melinda Burgess. The Graveside Service will be Monday, August 13, 2012 at 10:00 AM at Oaklawn Cemetery, with Dr. Richard Crider officiating. No formal visitation will be held.
