Bessie Marie Bland Norris

Bessie Marie Bland Norris, age 94, peacefully passed away at 12:30 am July 15, 2021 at the Randolph Hospice House. Born November 15, 1926 in Conway, South Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Sam and Bessie Bland. Mrs. Norris will be remembered as a loving wife, devoted mother, grandmother, great-great grandmother as well as a friend to many. Along with her parents, Mrs. Norris was predeceased by her sons Jimmy Ludlum, Stewart Norris, grandsons, Michael Clarence Smart, Alvin Strider, and Daniel Norris, and great grandson William Michael Ludlum. Surviving is her loving devoted husband Don Norris, son Bill Ludlum (Sandra) of Rock Hill, SC, her daughters, Linda Smart (Clarence) of Conway, SC, Sandra Strider of Asheboro, Julie Matthews (Anthony) of Asheboro, Debbie Lanier (Paul) of Winston-Salem, James Norris (Connie) of Asheboro, along with 9 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and 13 great-great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held in the chapel at Pugh Funeral Home in Asheboro on Sunday, July 18, 2021 at 2:00 pm with Pastor Wayne Eller officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the chapel. Burial will follow at Randolph Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Randolph, 416 Vision Drive, Asheboro, NC 27203.
