Bertha Lee Strickland

Bertha Lee Helton Strickland, age 94, of Asheboro died Monday, July 28, 2014 at her home. Mrs. Strickland was born April 2, 1920 the daughter of Govenor and Mae Helton. Mrs. Strickland was a native of Tennessee. She was a homemaker and loved to quilt. Bertha's favorite past time was reading the Bible. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Strickland; son: Jerry Strickland; daughter: Sheila McMasters; 3 sisters and 2 brothers. She is survived by son: Glenn Allan Strickland of Winston- Salem; daughter: Tammy Spaugh and her husband David of Asheboro; 9 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; sisters: Maggie McNeil of Summerfield, Dot Bean of Greensboro, Ruth Gass of Cleveland, OH, and Mildred Lawson of Bulls Gap, TN. A graveside service will be held Thursday, July 31, 2014 at 2:00pm at Guilford Memorial Park, 6000 High Point Rd., Greensboro with Rev. Garry L. Reeder and Rev. Phillip Tarbor officiating.
