Bertha Coble Cates

Bertha Coble Cates, age 77, of Asheboro passed away on Monday, July 27, 2020 at Randolph Hospice House. Ms. Cates was born in Ramseur on October 27, 1942 to Fletcher and Ruth Kivett Coble. She was formerly employed with Seagate Marina in Newport, NC. In addition to her parents, Bertha was preceded in death by her companion of over 15 years, George R. Gooding. She is survived by her brother, James Coble of Graham; sisters, Frances Varner of Asheboro, Mary Webster of Snow Camp, and Betty Willits and husband Morris of Asheboro. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, August 1, 2020 at 2:00 pm at the Patterson Grove Christian Church Cemetery, 1921 Patterson Grove Road in Ramseur.
