Bernita Gough Hartley Bullard, age 78, of Asheboro died Monday, December 22, 2014 from complications of Alzheimer's Disease.
Mrs. Bullard was born in Surry County on January 10, 1936 to W. Wheeler and I. May Wagner Gough. In addition to her parents, Bernita was preceded in death by her siblings Edna Rae Gough and Bryce Gough. Bernita was retired from Forsyth Memorial Hospital. She was a woman of faith, attending Cross Road Baptist Church in Asheboro. She loved to give, even sacrificially to missions both near and far, spreading the good news of Jesus. She fiercely loved her family and her dogs; she also enjoyed road trips, gardening, bird watching and feeding birds. Bernita was a true lady.
She is survived by her husband, Burnice Bullard of Asheboro; daughter; Dreama Archibald and husband Andy of Asheboro; sons, David Hartley of Winston-Salem, Danny Hartley and wife Phyllis of Winston-Salem; grandchildren, Winter Kye Archibald, Jetta Star Archibald, Zachary Hartley, Jacob Hartley and wife Kyra; great granddaughter, Evelyn Grace Hartley; brothers, Evan Gough and wife Wanda of Florida, Ezra Gough and wife Nancy of Advance.
The family will receive friends on Friday, December 26, 2014 from 11:00-11:45 am at Cross Road Baptist Church, 1566 Old Cox Rd., Asheboro. Funeral services will follow on Friday at 12:00 noon at Cross Road Baptist Church with Pastor Johnny R. Henderson officiating. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery.
