Bernice Williams

Bernice Stroud Williams, age 96, of Randleman died Sunday, December 27, 2015 at Hinkle Hospice House, Lexington. Mrs. Williams was born July 24, 1919 the daughter of Henry W. and Laura Marlowe Stroud. Bernice was a native of Iredell County and member of Academy Street Baptist Church. She found great peace and joy in reading the bible, her church and the church family. She was a positive prayer warrior. Bernice enjoyed gardening and her "Thursday Day Out" to Bojangles and shopping with Ronnie. In addition to her parents Bernice is preceded in death by her husband Carey David Williams, children, Reuben York and Frances Williams, and 11 brothers and sisters. She is survived by her daughter: Elaine Pratt of Mocksville; son: Ronnie York and his wife Cathy of Harmony; step son, Glenn Williams and his wife Gayle of Randleman; step daughter, Judy Wright and her husband Bill of Asheville; 20 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; 6 great great grandchildren. The family will receive friends Thursday, December 31, 2015 from 1:00-2:00 pm at Academy Street Baptist Church, 326 W. Academy, Randleman, NC. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm with Pastor Anthony Green and Rev. Billy Manners officiating. Burial will be in Randolph Memorial Park, Asheboro.
