Bernice Wood Skeen Davis

Bernice Wood Skeen Davis, age 87, of 1916 Lambert Dr., Asheboro died Tuesday, May 27, 2008 at Randolph Hospital, Asheboro. Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 31, 2008 at 11:00 am at Oakhurst Baptist Church, with Dr. Richard Crider officiating. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery. Mrs. Davis was a native of Randolph County, a member of Oakhurst Baptist Church and was retired from Acme-McCrary Corporation after 40 years of service. She had volunteered at The Salt Box for 18 years and at Randolph Hospital for 4 years. Mrs. Davis enjoyed quilting, cooking, gardening and needlework. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ross and Celia Snyder Wood and by her first husband, Wan Wilson Skeen. She is survived by her husband, Thurman Davis; daughter, Diane Skeen Smith and her husband, T. Rick of Greensboro; stepdaughter, Ruth Ann Luck and her husband Bobby of Asheboro; step-son, Roger Davis and his wife Sherrie of Asheboro; grandchildren, Landon Smith, Laura Jane Pentz; step-grandchildren, Brian Luck, Brandon Davis, Kevin Davis; great grandchild, Jackson Neil Pentz; 2 step great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends Friday, May 30, 2008 from 6:00-8:00 pm at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC.
