Bernadette Lanor Wolfe, age 76, passed away peacefully May 5th, 2021 due to complications of a stroke. She was born September 21, 1944 in St. Louis, Mo. to Ira Calvin, and Lilian Blair. Married her longtime friend and love, Harold Elmer Wolfe on July 3rd, 1963 who preceded her in death in 2009.
For those that knew her, Bernie loved people not for who they were, but for who they could be. She opened her home to many people in need throughout my lifetime never turning anyone away. She hated to see people suffer and selflessly gave what she had.
She had varied interests working for McDonald Douglas, a candy maker, a yacht builder, and lastly a cook. She loved to play softball and achieved the level of brown belt in Tae Kwon Do as a senior.
Bernie is survived by 2 sisters Beatrice Huewy and Lavern Kasehamer. 5 children and their spouses, Bruce and Amelia Wolfe, Louranne and Tim Barclay, Shawn Wolfe, Danielle Stokes, and Kelly Wolfe, 15 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and her many nephews and nieces. All of these she loved and touched deeply.
She will be laid to rest on Friday, May 21st, 2021 10:00 am at the Salisbury National Cemetery 501 Statesville Blvd. Salisbury, NC.
Pugh Funeral Home in Asheboro is serving the family.
