Barbara A. Stone

Barbara A. Stone, age 74, of Mt. Gilead died Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at Randolph Hospice House, Asheboro, NC.

Mrs. Stone was born December 7, 1942 in Montgomery County, the daughter of the late Irvin Thompson, Sr. and Ila Morton Thompson.

She is survived by her husband William "Bill" Stone; brothers, James P. Thompson of Mt. Gilead and Irvin Thompson Jr. and wife Phyllis of Candor; Goddaughter, Jessica Poole of Troy; and special canine friend "Boo Boo".

Barbara was a housewife and kept Foster children for 14 years. She was a longtime member of Long Hill Baptist Church for over 20 years. She was a loving, faithful person dedicated to her church and enjoyed singing in the choir. Her favorite past time was fishing.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, December 1, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Long Hill Baptist Church, 637 Capelsie Rd., Candor, NC with Rev. Mark Forrest officiating.

The family requests that Memorial donations be made to Hospice Of Randolph, P.O. Box 9, Asheboro, NC 27204-0009.
