Barbara Lee Saunders Smith

Barbara Lee Saunders Smith, age 83, of Randleman passed away on Tuesday, October 22, 2019 at Randolph Hospice House.

Mrs. Smith was born in Randolph County on February 6, 1936 to Robert and Eva Coley Saunders. She was retired from Acme-McCrary Corporation with over 60 years of service. Barbara was a member of Giles Chapel United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Willie G. Smith, Sr., daughter, Deborah Smith, and sister, Ruby Lemons. Barbara loved flower gardening, collecting antiques, and going to yard sales. Most of all, Barbara really loved spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughter, Sheila Smith of Randleman; son, Gentry Smith (Angel) of Randleman; grandchildren, Amanda Nelson (CJ), Josiah Smith (Reshea), and Daniel Smith; and sister, Louise Pugh of Welcome.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 24, 2019 at 3:00 pm at Cross Road Baptist Church, 1566 Old Cox Road in Asheboro with Rev. Johnny R. Henderson and Rev. Mike Lee officiating. The family will receive friends following the service in the Christian Life Center at Cross Road Baptist Church. A private burial will be held.
