Barbara W. Shea

Barbara Madelyn Wright Molloy Shea, age 79, of Asheboro died Tuesday, August 12, 2008 at Randolph Health & Rehabilitation, Asheboro. Mrs. Shea was born September 28, 1928 the daughter of Arthur H. and Zona (Clark) Wright. Barbara was a native of Asheboro and a graduate of Asheboro High School, Class of 1945. She spent much of her adult life in Long Island, NY where her husband, Bill, worked with Long Island Lighting Company. She was a homemaker and enjoyed quilting and crafts. She is preceded in death by her parents; first husband: Vernon Molloy; daughter: Ellen Molloy Gentile; brothers: Rev. Everette B. Wright and Thurman Wright; sisters: Louise W. Burkheart, Margaret W. Cox and Dalphene W. Wheeler. She is survived by her husband: William "Bill" Shea; one brother: William Wright of Asheboro, NC; grandson, Brendan Gentile of Long Island, NY; and one granddaughter, Lisa Sammut of Long Island, NY; one niece and six nephews. The family will receive friends Friday, August 15, 2008, from 7:00 - 9:00 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC with a Rosary Service at 7:00 PM. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, August 16, 2008 at 2:30 PM at St Joseph Catholic Church, 512 W. Wainman Ave., Asheboro. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery, Asheboro.
