Barbara Ann Stein Parris, age 71, of 3139 Old NC Hwy 49S, Asheboro died Saturday, November 22, 2008 at her home.Mrs. Parris was born October 29, 1937 the daughter of Henry and Ivory (Burnett) SteinBarbara was a native of Reidsville, NC and a member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church. She was the owner of Creative Cakes Bakery in Asheboro for more than 21 years where she was known for her cakes and apple dumplings sold during the Fall Festival. She had formerly worked with J. P. Stevens in Randleman. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister and she will be greatly missed. She is preceded in death by her parents, a brother: Kenneth Stein and one sister: Geneva Metzher. She is survived by her husband: Grady Parris; Son and his wife, Andy And Page Parris of Asheboro, NC; daughter and her husband, Dawn And Mike Bell of Asheboro, NC and son: Chip Parris of the home; grandson, Ryan Camp; grandson, Carson Parris; grandson, Taylor Parris; grandson, Ethan Bell; sisters: Gail York and Peggy Vandiver of Denton, NC and one brother: Jimmy Stein of Troy, VAThe family will receive friends Sunday, November 23, 2008 from 6-8 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC. The funeral will be Monday at 2:00 PM at Cedar Grove Baptist Church, 3012 Old NC 49, Asheboro with Rev. Marty Grainger officiating.
