Barbara Sue Garner

Barbara Sue Presnell Garner age 76 of 3375 Plainfield Rd., Sophia left this earth on August 10 to be with her heavenly father. Barbara was born on February 20, 1934. She was a resident of Randolph County and widow of William Clyde "Bill" Garner. Barbara was a lifelong member of Forest Park Baptist Church. She was employed with Acme-McCrary for 27 years and retired from Arrow International. She was a volunteer for seniors with the Salt Box for a time. Barbara is survived by 3 children, Sherry Garner Crisco of Asheboro, Lisa Garner Atkinson (Jim Boyd) of Sophia, and Michael Allen Garner (Robin) of Coleridge; 4 grandchildren, Brandy Atkinson, Miles Garner Allison, Lea Brooke Allison, and Melanie Garner; 1 great grandson, Cooper William Swan; and 1 sister, Phyllis Lanier (Terrance) of Sophia. The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 12, 2010 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Ave., Asheboro. Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 13, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel in Asheboro with Rev. Jon Ferguson officiating. Burial will be in Randolph Memorial Park.
