Barbara Dorsett

Barbara Ann Massey Dorsett, age 72, of Asheboro died Saturday, September 20, 2014 at Randolph Hospice House, Asheboro. Mrs. Dorsett was born January 20, 1942 the daughter of Ollie and Eloise Landing Massey. Mrs. Dorsett was a native of Princess Anne, MD and a longtime member of Russell's Grove Baptist Church. She worked for more than 25 years at Stedman's and then at Sara Lee. She was a compassionate and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Barbara cared well for her children and enjoyed NASCAR. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by two children: Donald and Donna Owens. She is survived by her husband: Roy Dorsett; daughter and her husband, Danielle and Lawrence Cranford of Asheboro, NC; daughter and her husband, Deanna and Rodney Brown of Ramseur, NC; 9 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren; brother and his wife, Ollie and Beverly Massey, Jr. of CA; sister and her husband, Ginny and Wright Townsend of MD; sister and her husband, Patricia and Mike Fields of Hampstead, NC; sister: Kay Dorsett of Asheboro, NC and brother: Pierce Massey of Asheboro, NC The family will receive friends Monday, September 22, 2014 from 6 - 8 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC and other times at the home of her daughter, Danielle, 5296 King View Rd., Asheboro, NC. The funeral will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, September 23, 2014 at Russell's Grove Baptist Church, 5118 U.S. Hwy 220 Bus. South, Asheboro with Rev. Tim Fonner officiating.
