Audrey Craig Beck, age 87, of Greensboro went to heaven Tuesday, March 10, 2015. Audrey had one mission in life. She wanted to see others as Jesus did; she lived her life for God and her family.
Mrs. Beck was raised in Spencer, North Carolina and a graduate of Spencer High School. She was a 1953 graduate of Wake Forest where she was a member of Phi Beta Kappa and completed a double major in Biology and Math in three years. She also received her Bachelor of Arts from UNC-Greensboro and received a ceramics degree from Montgomery Technical College. Audrey taught 8th grade math at Fayetteville Street School and was a cub scout and girl scout leader for over twelve years. She was instrumental in the creation of "Our Daily Bread Kitchen" and Mission Adonai Methodist Church, both in Asheboro, N.C. Audrey designed and painted the governmental seals for Asheboro City, Randolph County and High Point City. She also painted the Bicentennial mural, "Randolph Memories," in Asheboro on Fayetteville Street with Cynvia Arthur and Louise Culler. She was an active member of Central United Methodist Church.
Audrey was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Adam W. "Jack" Beck. She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Dr. Mark and Linda Knox Beck of High Point, Dr. Eric W. and Ivana Beck of Winston- Salem; daughter and son-in-law, Anne Beck Stultz and Doug Stultz of Greensboro; grandchildren, Hunter, Iveylee Trump and husband Chris, Holden, Harrison, Hamilton, Henderson, Audrey Ann, Anna Lee, Sarah, Julian, Lili, Ryan and Tyler; great grandchild, August Rose Trump; brother, David Craig of Prescott Valley, AZ.
The family will receive friends Saturday, March 14, 2015 from 12:30 - 2:00 PM at Central United Methodist Church, 300 South Main Street, Asheboro. A memorial service will follow at 2:00 PM at Central United Methodist Church with Rev. Chris Thore officiating.
In lieu of flowers Audrey would have requested memorials be made to Mission Adonai, P.O. Box 5322, Asheboro, NC 27204.
